Vivek Atray is an IAS officer, an Inspirational Speaker and a Novelist/Author. He has excelled in the fields of Investment Promotion, IT (including e-Governance), Public Relations/Communication, Technical Education and Tourism.

He is an acclaimed orator and has been a popular speaker at events organised by NASSCOM, CII, TIE, MAIT and other national level forums. He has inspired thousands of youngsters to adopt a cheerful, positive and multi-dimensional approach to their lives.

His TEDx talk on the “Ingredients for being an all-rounder in life”​ proved highly popular on the internet. He also speaks on subjects such as ‘Bouncing back in life’​, ‘Leadership skills’​, ‘Humour in real life’​, ‘Calmness’​, etc.

He is a prolific writer with a flair for literary expression. His first novel “Move on Bunny!- The uproarious escapades of Bunny Kapoor”​ did spectacularly well. His second novel “Dubey ji Bounces Back”​ has also been highly successful. Over a hundred of his articles and ‘Middles’ have been published in The Tribune, The Times of India, the Hindustan Time and the Indian Express.

Vivek Atray won much acclaim for his role in developing the IT Park in Chandigarh,when he was the Director of IT. He also spearheaded the implementation of the national award winning e-Sampark project, a multi-service, single window e-Governance project in Chandigarh.
Vivek also worked in the corporate sector, as Advisor, for KPMG and PwC on a sabbatical from the Government.

He organises the annual All India JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament in which over 2000 cricketers including 80 renowned international players have played over the past 2 decades. Vivek was an under-19 cricketer at the national level and played the CK Naidu tournament twice.
He is a founder member of the Chandigarh Literary Society and the co-Convenor of the Chandigarh Chapter of INTACH.

He is an Electronics and Communication Engineer from NIT Kurukshetra. He has a diploma in French language too.
